4EIGHTY Mark 2


4EIGHTY is delighted to welcome back Mark Reid to the company after an absence of over two years.

Previously an associate consultant with the company, Mark left to develop his skills in training and development firstly with the Chartered Institute of Housing in Scotland and then with the Glasgow Council for Voluntary Service.

Returning as Associate Director with responsibility for developing 4EIGHTY's range of staff, management and board development and training services Mark is relishing the challenge.

"I really excited to be joining up with Tom again at an exciting time in the development of the business. 4EIGHTY has always been extremely active in developing and delivering a wide range of training and development packages to clients across Scotland. Now it is my job to build on that success and use my experience to make us one of the first names that clients think of when they want help to get the very best out of their people."
In addition to training and development, Mark will also play a lead role in developing 4EIGHTY's community and stakeholder consultation services.

Tom Gets on Board


4EIGHTY Director Tom Hainey is to join Cairn Housing Association's Committee of Management.Commenting on the news Tom said he was delighted to be joining Cairn at an exciting time for RSLs in Scotland.

"I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues and making my own particular contribution to the future success of the Association. With such a wealth of experience already on the Committee I am sure I will learn a great deal too."
Tom will take part in his first meeting in December.

4EIGHTY Supports Weedon Grant


4EIGHTY has agreed to assist Wakefield based social housing and community regeneration specialists Weedon Grant in developing its services to clients throughout Scotland.

Already with a number of assignments in progress for clients in Scotland, Weedon Grant is building on a solid foundation of success in England. Working with 4EIGHTY will offer access to specialist support services such as resident and stakeholder consultation, team building and service reviews.

Weedon Grant's Executive Director for its Scottish operation, Andrea Paterson and Tom Hainey have worked together before early in their consultancy careers and share a common background in Scottish social housing. Together they aim to offer clients a well balanced team with access to all of the skills and experience necessary to effectively meet their needs.

4EIGHTY Director, Tom Hainey said he was delighted with the arrangement and looked forward to working with Andrea and her colleagues.

"Our approach at 4EIGHTY has been to find like minded consultancies with whom we can build partnerships. I am really looking forward to developing this new partnership with Weedon Grant I am sure it will be beneficial to all concerned."

Tom emphasised that this arrangement had no effect on the independence of 4EIGHTY and that he and his team would still be providing services directly to clients as well as jointly with Weedon Grant.

4EIGHTY United


4EIGHTY has been chosen by Scottish Premier league outfit Dundee United as one of three official first team kit sponsors for season 2006-7.

The 4EIGHTY logo will be emblazoned on the teams socks for all league and cup matches home and away.

Long time Dundee United Supporter and 4EIGHTY Director said he was delighted to be associated with the team he has supported since first seeing them play while at University in Dundee in 1981.

"After a quarter of a century of supporting United through good times and bad it means a lot to me to see the company I formed associated so visibly with the team I love.

"I wish I could come up with some clever pun now to make a connection between hosiery and our consultancy services but sadly I can't get beyond - 4EIGHTY, we'll help your team pull its socks up! Not very good really is it?"

Alan's Big Plan


After over three years with 4EIGHTY, regeneration consultant Alan Webster is moving on to pastures new. Alan is joining the community regeneration team with the Planning service in Dundee.

Alan is currently completing the final module of a degree in community regeneration at Dundee University and is excited about his new position.

"Working with 4EIGHTY has given me a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of community focussed and regeneration related assignments. Moving to Dundee will give me the opportunity to take my interest a stage further in a city where there is a huge amount of innovative regeneration activity.

"This opportunity has come at a perfect time as I am about to finish my degree and I am now looking forward to meeting my new colleagues when I start later in March.

"I will be sorry to leave 4EIGHTY and would like to say a big thank you to all of the clients I have worked with over the years. The experience of working with you all has taught me a hell of a lot about regeneration for real."

West Lothian Council Behaviour in Communities Mapping Study


Tom Hainey has been retained by West Lothian Council to develop a comprehensive map of services, programmes, organisations, facilities and funding that together contribute towards the prevention of anti-social behaviour and promotion of good citizenship and community cohesion.

The review will look at the inputs of the Council and its partners across all sectors towards tackling anti-social behaviour, diversionary activities for young people and other relevant programmes such as those tackling alcohol and substance abuse.

West Lothian Director of Customer and Support Services, Martin Armstrong said that the Council was determined to be creative in its pursuit of effective and sustainable contributions towards the promotion of contented and cohesive communities.

"This mapping exercise will paint an accurate picture of who currently does what and enable us to positively consider what we can do to be even more effective in meeting the needs of communities across West Lothian."

Weslo Housing Management - Tenant Survey 2005


4EIGHTY is delighted to announce the completion of its first major tenant satisfaction survey for Bathgate based social landlord Weslo Housing Management Limited.

Working alongside survey partners TPAS Scotland, DK Research and Statistical Information Solutions, 4EIGHTY has developed its own unique approach to obtaining results of the highest levels of reliability.

Weslo Chief Executive Mike Bruce expressed his complete satisfaction with the 4EIGHTY approach.
